Terms of Use
Drilling Map · drillingmap.bychip.one · Version of October 20, 2026
Drilling Map is a web app run by bychip.one ("we", "us"). It turns 811 ticket emails into a map and a list of work sites. These terms apply to the company that has a Drilling Map account ("your company") and to every person who signs in with that company's accounts ("you"). By clicking Accept you agree to them for yourself and, if you are a manager, for your company.
1. Accounts
- Keep your password private. Each person uses their own account.
- Managers are responsible for the crew accounts they create, and for turning off accounts of people who leave.
- Tell us right away if you think someone else used your account.
2. Your company's data
- Tickets, emails, files and notes your company puts into Drilling Map stay your company's. We use them only to run the app for you.
- When AI reading is on, each email and its attachments are sent to our AI provider (Anthropic) to be read. They are not used to train AI models.
- We do not sell your data. Your company can ask for a copy of its data or for it to be deleted.
3. Confidentiality and no copying
Drilling Map, including its screens, design, features, workflows, the way it reads and organizes ticket emails, and anything we tell you about how it works, is confidential and belongs to us. You and your company agree not to:
- copy, reproduce or imitate Drilling Map or any part of it;
- build, or help anyone else build, a product that competes with Drilling Map using what you saw or learned in it;
- reverse engineer, decompile, scrape or try to get the app's code;
- share screenshots, recordings, logins or access with anyone outside your company, except what you need to do your own work (for example, sending a site location to a crew);
- resell, rent or give access to Drilling Map to another company.
These promises continue for two years after your company's account ends.
4. Field safety
Drilling Map helps organize ticket information. It does not replace the 811 center, the locate marks on site, or the law. Automatic and AI reading can make mistakes. Always check the actual ticket, the marks on site and the utility responses before you dig, and call 811 when anything is unclear.
5. Service
We work to keep Drilling Map running and safe, but it is provided "as is", without a promise that it will always be available or free of errors. We may change or improve features over time.
6. Liability
As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including damage to utilities, delays or lost profits, that come from using Drilling Map or from information shown in it. Our total liability is limited to what your company paid us for Drilling Map in the 12 months before the claim.
7. Ending an account
Your company can stop using Drilling Map at any time. We can suspend or close accounts that break these terms.
8. Changes to these terms
If these terms change, you will be asked to read and accept the new version the next time you sign in.
